The October 6 game in San Francisco was decided early. Golden State shot 51 percent from the field (41 of 80) and 43 percent from three (15 of 35). The Lakers made 33 of 83 shots, which is 40 percent, and turned the ball over 22 times. The Warriors scored 48 points in the paint to 36 and had 32 assists on their 41 baskets.
Yaxel Lendeborg led Golden State with 17 points and 9 rebounds, and Draymond Green handed out 8 assists. For Los Angeles, Sandro Mamukelashvili scored 15, Bronny James had 5 assists and Jarred Vanderbilt grabbed 5 rebounds. The seasons around those games went in different directions. Los Angeles went 53-29, beat Houston 4-2 in the first round and was swept 4-0 by Oklahoma City in the second. Tuesday is the last time these two meet before the results matter. Their regular-season series starts on Wednesday, October 21, at 10 p.m. Eastern (02:00 UTC Thursday) in Los Angeles, with ESPN carrying it. They play again on October 30 with Golden State at home, then in January and March, for four games in all.
