The 2026 Formula 1 season

The 2026 season brought new technical rules for the cars and their power units, and the grid grew to 11 teams with the arrival of Cadillac. The championship finishes at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on December 6, 2026. After Singapore, the remaining rounds are the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Mexico City, São Paulo, Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

A standard race weekend

Most weekends follow the same pattern. Friday has two one-hour practice sessions. Saturday has a third practice session and then qualifying. Sunday is the Grand Prix. Qualifying is split into three parts: Q1 and Q2 each knock out the slowest cars, and the ten fastest drivers fight for pole position in Q3. The race is around 305 kilometres, or two hours of running, whichever comes first, apart from Monaco, which is shorter.

Points in the Grand Prix go to the top ten finishers: 25 for the winner, then 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1. There is no extra point for the fastest lap; that rule was dropped from 2025.

Sprint weekends

Six rounds in 2026 use the sprint format: China, Miami, Canada, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Singapore. On those weekends Friday has a single practice session and sprint qualifying. Saturday has the sprint, a short race of about 100 kilometres with no mandatory pit stop, followed by qualifying for the Grand Prix. Sunday is the Grand Prix as normal. The sprint pays points to the top eight, from 8 points for the winner down to 1 point for eighth place.

Session times across the calendar

European rounds in summer usually start the race at 13:00 UTC. Rounds in the Americas run in the late afternoon or evening in UTC, and races in Asia and the Middle East are earlier. Singapore and Qatar are night races in local time, and Las Vegas runs on Saturday night local time, which is early Sunday morning in UTC. The page shows every session on your own clock, so you do not have to convert anything yourself.

How the F1 page is laid out

For each Grand Prix there is one main row that stays the same from first practice to the end of the race, and its title changes with the session that is next. Bookmark that row's page on Friday and the same link works all weekend. Other rows for individual sessions also appear when the listings carry them.

The F1 page covers motorsport in general, so MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 appear under their own heading, along with other racing when it is listed. MotoGP has a sprint race every weekend on Saturday, and its main race is on Sunday, so its row moves between those as the weekend goes on.

What a race page shows

The race page header shows the event, the next session and its start time on your clock, and the circuit when it is known. Below that is the list of feeds. A Main row, if there is one, is the feed we chose and comes first. The other rows are channels with a mirror number, and each opens the player in a new tab. Many feeds start with the pre-race build-up, which is useful if you want to see the grid walk and the formation lap.

Tips for race weekends

Practice sessions are a good time to test a feed before the race, because the same channels usually carry all the sessions of a weekend. For night races and the late-night American rounds, the race page stays up through the event, so you can open it early and leave it in a tab.

If a session is red-flagged, the clock usually stops and the session runs late. Rain can also delay a race start. The row keeps its scheduled time, so the page may show the next session while cars are still out, and the feeds simply carry on.
